Nogi v ruki i vperiod/Ноги в руки и вперед (Literal translation: take the feet in your hands and go forward)
Nogi v ruki i vperiod is a solo performance where I wanted to reconnect to a Russian heritage and culture. I wanted to rethink and reflect on my understanding of Russian culture after living abroad for several years. In a time of globalisation, I feel it is getting more and more complicated and harder to return to your roots or to say what is your particular cultural heritage. Moreover, while I lived in Netherldans, I did not share anything of what excites me, drives me mad or crazy, touches me like nothing else in my culture. I researched a lot on how people think about Russia that had to remind myself what do I like in this unpredictable, sensitive and forgiving culture. This is a solo where I re-baptise myself. And this small ritual I want to share with the audience.
